Eyal wrote hooked, which by all accounts seems to be the play book for building digital products that lead to people needing, more than wanting to use them…other wise known as addiction. It would seem then that Eyal has realised that his original work has resulted in some pretty bad stuff being built and he has now written the what could be described as the antidote to said products…and it’s brilliant.
This book is a practical and very real guide to reducing distraction and taking back control of our time and attention at a time in which that seems impossible.
I have implemented some of his suggestions and I am already seeing an increase in focus, a decrease in screen time and a deeper awareness of where my time is being allocated.
Eyal guides us on how to be more deliberate with our time and attention and how to cut out the things that aren’t serving us, especially in the digital context.
I highly recommend this book and I just love that it’s been written by the guy that literally ‘wrote the book’ on how to build addictive products.
